Nintendo Gamecube 480p Output Optimal OSSC Timing: -------------------- Input Cable: Official Nintendo component cables OSSC Firmware = 0.81a (use 0.81 if you don't have audio version of OSSC) OSSC input set to AV2 -------------------- Note: Although these settings are based on my Gamecube with official component cables, the only values that may or may not differ from other Gamecube hardware are the following: 1. Sampling phase (this always will be restricted to a case-by-case basis). 2. Advanced timing for 480p's H. backporch. 3. Advanced timing for 480p's V. backporch. Everything else should be universal. -------------------- Video in proc > Video LPF = 16MHz (EDTV) -------------------- Sync opt. > Analog sync LPF = Off -------------------- Output opt. > 480p/576p proc = Line2x -------------------- Sampling opt. > 480p: H. samplerate = 858 H. Synclen = 62 H. backporch = 59 H. active = 720 * * Note this is very important. Some Gamecube games extend beyond 640 horizontal resolution, even in games meant for "4:3" graphics. Wind Waker is one example going out to 660 pixels wide. V. synclen = 6 V. backporch = 30 V. active = 480 Back out to "Sampling phase" and adjust until you get the best general sharpness on your pixels. I used the grapling hook icon in the subscreen to The Legend of Zelda - The Wind Waker and adjusted until the 'grid' texture was most visible on it. For me, this ended up being 146 degrees. --------------------
